The book under review is a brief introduction to historical, theoretical and practical aspects of pendulums. The mechanical clock can serve as the most known example of practical use of pendulums. Pendulums are known for their applications in science (Foucault pendulum, Charpy impact test), in industry (Watt steam governor, tension leg platform), also they have some recreational uses (children's swings, pendulum harmonographs). In the book, various types of pendulum systems are described and their behavior is explained. The book is written on the advanced popular science level, and it will be interesting for readers with some background in elementary geometry, algebra, trigonometry and minimal knowledge of differential and integral calculuses.
