In this paper two types of weighted Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev (HLS) inequalities are studied on the Heisenberg group \(\mathbb H^n=\mathbb C^n\times \mathbb R\) equipped with the group structure \(uv=(z,t)(z',t')=(z+z',t+t'+2\text{Im}(z\cdot \overline{z'}))\). The Haar measure on \(\mathbb H^n\) is the Lebesgue measure \(du=dz\,dt\). The \(|u|\)-weighted HLS inequality takes the form \( \Big|\int_{\mathbb H^n}\int_{\mathbb H^n} \frac{\overline{f(u)}g(v)}{|u|^\alpha|u^{-1}v|^\lambda|v|^\beta}\,du\,dv\Big|\leq C_{\alpha,\beta,r,\lambda,n}\|f\|_r\|g\|_s \), with a constant \(C_{\alpha,\beta,r,\lambda,n}\) independent of \(f\) and \(g\). Here \(|u|=|(z,t)|=(|z|^4+t^2)^{1/4}\) is the homogeneous norm on \(\mathbb H^n\), so that \(d(u,v)=|v^{-1}u|\) is a left-invariant metric on \(\mathbb H^n\). Inequalities of this type were proved in the Euclidean setting by \textit{E. M. Stein} and \textit{G. Weiss} [J. Math. Mech. 7, 503--514 (1958; Zbl 0082.27201)]. In this paper the authors prove the \(|u|\)-weighted HLS inequality under the assumptions: \(1<r,s<\infty\), \(0<\lambda<Q:=2n+2\), \(\alpha<Q/r'\), \(\beta<Q/s'\), \(\alpha+\beta\geq0\), \(\lambda+\alpha+\beta\leq Q\), and \(\frac1r+\frac1s+\frac{\lambda+\alpha+\beta}Q=2\). The latter constraint on the involved parameters is a necessary condition implied by a homogeneity argument. The \(|z|\)-weighted HLS inequality is as above but with \(|u|\) and \(|v|\) replaced by \(|z|\) and \(|z'|\), \(v=(z',t')\). The authors prove it with approprietely modified conditions imposed on the parameters \(\alpha,\beta,r,s,\lambda,n\). Comments on sharpness of the constants \(C_{\alpha,\beta,r,\lambda,n}\) are also included. In addition, a part of the paper is devoted to the study of regularity estimates of positive solutions to integral systems of Euler-Lagrange equations of the possible extremals to the \(|u|\)-weighted and \(|z|\)-weighted HLS inequalities.
