The main result is that if a \textit{reversible } Finsler manifold \((M,F)\) has constant positive flag curvature it must be Riemannian. The proof is based on some evaluation of symplectic volumes and the following theorem of Z. Shen: Let \((M,F)\) be a simply connected reversible Finsler manifold with constant flag curvature one. Then, for every \(x\in M\), there is a unique point \(x^*\in M\) with \(dist(x,x^*) = \pi\), and every geodesic issuing from \(x\) is closed with length \(2\pi\), passing through \(x^*.\) The map \(\psi_x\) restricted to \((0,\pi)\times S_x M\) is a diffeomorphism to \(M\backslash (x,x^*).\) Furthermore, the osculating Riemannian metric \(g^{\dot\gamma_v}(t)\) has the form \((\psi_x)^*(g^{\dot\gamma_v}(t))= dt^2 \bigoplus \sin^2t\dot{g_x}.\) Here \(\psi _x :(0,\infty)\times S_xM\mapsto M \) is defined by \( \psi _x(t,v)= \gamma_v(t)\), \(\dot{g_x}\) is the induced Riemannian metric on the indicatrix \(S_xM\) and the osculating Riemannian metrics are provided by the Finsler metric \(g\) evaluated in the points \((\gamma _v(t), {\dot\gamma_v(t)})\) for a geodesic \(\gamma _v\).
