    For a proper ideal \(I\) of a commutative ring \(R\), let \(R \bowtie I\) be the subring \(\{(r, r + i) \mid r \in R, i \in I\}\) of \(R \times R\). This is called amalgamated duplication of a ring along an ideal, which was introduced and studied by \textit{M. D'Anna} and \textit{M. Fontana} [J. Algebra Appl. 6, No. 3, 443--459 (2007; Zbl 1126.13002); Ark. Mat. 45, No. 2, 241--252 (2007; Zbl 1143.13002)]. In this paper, the authors show that: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] If \(R\bowtie I\) is a quasi-Frobenius, then \(R\) is quasi-Frobenius. \item[(2)] If \(R\) is a quasi-Frobenius and \(R\) is a projective \(R \bowtie I\)-module, then \(R \bowtie I\) is quasi-Frobenius \end{itemize}}
