Let \(z_1,z_2,\dots,z_n \) be given numbers in the complex plane and let \(C\) be a continuum of the complex plane such that the outer domain \(B \ni \infty\) of \(C\) is simply connected and \(z_1,z_2,\dots ,z_n \not \in B\). Chebotarev's problem is to determine the continuum \(C\) for which the outer conformal mapping radius of the domain \(B\) is minimal among all domains \(B\). H. Grötzsch and M. Lavrent'ev gave 1930 two different ways to solve this problem. For a given set of points the solution is unique and in order to construct the unique extremal function a set of unknown parameters is needed. The author gives a formula for the extremal function without any parameter using a description of the extremal set \(C\) by methods of graph theory which is based on Grötzsch's approach. The paper contains only the basic ideas.
