This book is devoted to integral equations arising in evolution type problems. The main part of the monograph is an extensive self--contained presentation of the Volterra-Fredholm type equations and inequalities in two and three variables in the classes of continuous and differentiable functions. In particular, the author studies existence and uniqueness of solutions. Parabolic integrodifferential equations and sum--difference equations and inequalities are also discussed. All results are presented in an elementary way and the book could serve as a textbook for a graduate course. The first three chapters are devoted to integral equations and inequalities in special domains. A typical equation has the form \[ u(x,y) = f(x,y)+\int_0^x g(x,y,\xi,u(\xi,y)) d\xi + \int_0^x \int_0^y h(x,y,\sigma,\tau,u(\sigma,\tau)) d\tau d\sigma, \] where \(f\) and \(h\) are given continuous functions bounded by \(C \exp(\lambda(x+y))\) with a positive constant \(\lambda\). The function \(g\) satisfies the inequality \[ |g(x,y,\xi,u)-g(x,y,\xi,v)| \leq a(x,y,\xi)|u-v| \] for some continuous function \(a\). An analogous inequality holds for \(h\). Then, there exists a constant \(\beta \geq 0\) such that \[ |f(x,y)+\int_0^x g(x,y,\xi,0) d\xi + \int_0^x \int_0^y h(x,y,\sigma,\tau,0) d\tau d\sigma| \leq \beta \exp(\lambda(x+y)). \] Moreover, the integral equation has a unique solution \(u(x,y)\) exponentially bounded at infinity. The author systematically discuss similar equations and inequalities with triple integrals including integrals over \((a,b)\) and \((0,+\infty)\). Chapter 4 concerns equations and inequalities related to parabolic--type integrodifferential equations and inequalities \[ \frac{\partial u}{\partial t} -Lu= f(x,t,u)+(Hu)(x,t),~t>0,~x \in \Omega, \] where \(\Omega\) is a domain in \(\mathbb R^n\), \(L\) is a uniformly elliptic differential operator, \(H\) is an integral operator. The initial and boundary conditions are imposed. Chapter 5 concerns sum--difference equations and inequalities. A typical inequality has the form \[ u(n,m) \leq c + \sum_{s=0}^{n-1} \sum_{\sigma=0}^{s-1} \sum_{\tau=0}^{m-1} f(\sigma,\tau) u(\sigma,\tau). \]
