The aim of the paper is to prove the weighted Fourier transform norm inequalities of the form \[ \| \widehat f\| _{L^q_u} \leq C \| f\| _{L^p_v}, \leqno(1) \] where \(u\) and \(v\) are weights on \(\mathbb R^n\), \(1 < p, q < \infty\), \(L^p_v\) and \(L^q_u\) are the corresponding weighted Lebesgue spaces and \(\widehat f\) is the Fourier transform of a coupler-valued function \(f\) given on \(\mathbb R^n\). The main problems concerning (1) consist in characterizing the relationship between the weights \(u\) and \(v\) to guarantee the validity of (1), and, in such a case, in finding the smallest constant \(C\) so that (1) holds for all \(f \in L^p_v (\mathbb R^n)\). The authors provide two different proofs, one based on operator theory and one based on Lorentz space techniques. The results of these two approaches are compared and relationship to classical results is mentioned.
