Recall that a domain D is a seminormal if whenever x in the quotient field of R satisfies \(x^ 2\in D\) and \(x^ 3\in D\), then \(x\in D\). Also, call D an underring of the domain R if \(D\subseteq R\) and if D and R have the same quotient field. The following are equivalent for a domain R. \((i)\quad Every\) underring of R is seminormal. \((ii)\quad Every\) underring of R is normal. \((iii)\quad Every\) subring of R is normal. \((iv)\quad Every\) subring of R is a Euclidean domain. \((v)\quad Either\) R is isomorphic to an overring of the integers, or R is a field algebraic over a prime field of characteristic p\(>0\).
