Let \(1<p,q <\infty\). Then the Haar system is an unconditional basis in \(F^s_{p,q} (\mathbb R)\) if, and only if, \[ \max \big( - \frac{1}{p'}, - \frac{1}{q'} \big)<s< \min \big( \frac{1}{p}, \frac{1}{q} \big). \] The if-part has been known for some time and it was the main aim of the preceding paper of the authors [Math. Z. 285, No. 1--2, 91--119 (2017; Zbl 1369.46032)] to prove the only-if-part of this assertion by probabilistic arguments. In the paper under review, the authors give a new proof of this assertion by deterministic examples. Again, it requires quite sophisticated considerations.
