The diffraction measure of a weighted subset of a lattice \(L\) is invariant under translations from the dual lattice \(L^*\) [\textit{M. Baake}, Can. Math. Bull. 45, No. 4, 483--498 (2002; Zbl 1161.52309)]. Strungaru's paper deals with the extension of this result, and its consequences, to the much larger class of Meyer sets (i.e., sets \(M\) that are relatively dense such that \(M-M\) is still uniformly discrete). In particular, the author shows that any autocorrelation of a Meyer set in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) has a Fourier transform with a relatively dense set of Bragg peaks. If it also shows a continuous component, its support is relatively dense, too. For positive pure point measures, necessary and sufficient conditions are derived that the Fourier transforms are continuous. This also results in criteria for the absence of Bragg peaks in the diffraction of locally finite point sets. The results are relevant for the understanding of general diffraction measures, in particular those emerging from systems with a periodic order such as quasicrystals and their generalizations.
