Lower and upper bounds are established for heat flow and heat kernel associated to an operator \(\triangle+\nabla_b\) on a compact Riemannian manifold, where \(b\) is a divergence free vector field. The method introduces a spherical comparison manifold, invariant under rotations around the axis of two fixed poles and whose polar caps serve as isoperimetric inequalites for the original manifold. The crucial point is the estimates do not depend on the (divergence free) vector field \(b\), so that an application is given in homogenization.
