Squarefree modules have been introduced by \textit{K. Yanagawa} in order to generalize Stanley-Reisner rings [J. Algebra 225, No.~2, 630-645 (2000; Zbl 0981.13011)]. In an earlier paper, the author defined the Alexander dual of a squarefree module by means of exterior algebras [\textit{T. Römer}, Osaka J. Math. 38, 469-485 (2001; Zbl 1013.94016)]. In this paper, he defines such a dual in the polynomial ring. Then he proves a relationship between the squarefree components of local cohomology groups of a squarefree module and the Tor groups of its dual. Using this result, he shows that a squarefree module is sequentially Cohen-Macaulay if and only if its dual is componentwise linear. These results generalize many recent results on Stanley-Reisner rings. For Alexander duality in a more general situation see: \textit{E. Miller}, J. Algebra 231, 180-234 (2000; Zbl 0968.13009).
