Ultraproducts and small bound perturbations (Q1175118)

It is shown how the use of ultraproducts of real Banach spaces helps to provide short proofs of results that were before obtained by comparatively long and technical arguments. For example, the fact that almost isometric maps are almost linearly isometric or that almost multiplicative maps between uniform algebras are almost isometric.
