The author studies the existence of a periodic solution to the problem \[ \left\{ \begin{array}{l} u''(x) + r(x)u'(x) + g(x,u(x)) = f(x),\quad x \in [0,2\pi],\\ u(0) = u(2\pi),\quad u'(0) = u'(2\pi), \end{array} \right. \] where \(g\colon [0,2\pi]\times \mathbb{R}\longrightarrow \mathbb{R}\) is \(L^1\)-Caratheodory function, while \(r'\) and \(f\in L^1(0,2\pi)\) are \(2\pi\)-periodic. Imposing some growth conditions on \(g\), the author shows that the main problem has at least one solution. Both the standard minimizing arguments and the Saddle Point Theorem are used in this approach. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1427.00059].
