The Gottlieb groups, \(G_n(x)\subset\pi_n(x)\) have been generalized in several contexts. For example as a subset of homotopy classes \([A,X]\) with respect to a map \(h:B\to X\). For a CW-pair, in another paper, the authors define a long sequence called \(G\)-sequence, where the Gottlieb groups and their generalizations, are the sets in this long sequence. The authors study the notion of cyclic morphism and their homotopy classes in the category of pairs. This contains all the generalized notions defined so far. Then they present a \(G\)-sequence in this category and show that under certain conditions the \(G\)-sequence is exact. Standard homotopy theory of CW-complexes is used.
