    The exponential stability of the system \[ \begin{aligned} & \dot x(t)=A_0 x(t)+\sum^p_{i=1} A_ix(t-h_i(t))+f(t,x(t),x(t-h_1(t)),\dots,x(t-h_n(t))),\quad t\geq 0\\ & x(t)=\theta(t),\quad t\in [-H,0]\end{aligned} \] is considered. Using standard Lyapunov theory and the logarithmic norm \(\mu\), it is shown that a sufficient condition for stability is given by \[ \begin{multlined} \mu(TAT^{-1})+H \cdot \left(\sum_{i\in L}|A_i|\right) \cdot \left(\sum^p_{i=0}\left|TA_iT^{-1}\right|+|T|\cdot |T^{-1}|\cdot \sum^p_{i=0} a_i\right)+\\ +\left(\sum_{i\in \{1,\dots,p\}\setminus L} |TA_iT^{-1}|\right)+|T|\cdot |T^{-1}|\cdot \sum^p_{i=0} a_i<0\end{multlined} \] where \(L\) is some subset of \(\{1,\dots,p\}\), and \(a_i\) is the bound on the difference of \(\mu(TAT^{-1})\) and the largest real part of an eigenvalue of \(A_i\). Here, \[ A=A_0+\sum^p_{i=1}A_i. \] Moreover, a formula for the rate of exponential decay is given, together with a simple example.
