This paper construct hierarchies on Courant algebroids. The authors first review Courant algebroids, Leibniz algebroids and Nijenhuis torsion. Their purpose is then to explain how vanishing Nijenhuis torsion on a Courant algebroid naturally leads to several kinds of hierarchies. To this end, the supergeometric approach is used. Since what is true for manifolds and Lie algebroids is also in general true for Courant algebroids, it is not difficult to construct hierarchies of Courant structures, given a Nijenhuis tensor on a Courant algebroid. Nevertheless, another question, much more difficult, is also studied, namely the question to construct hierarchies of Poisson structures, given a Nijenhuis tensor compatible with a given Poisson structure on a Courant algebroid and also to construct hierarchies of Courant pairs of tensors.
