The authors introduce the heterogeneous advection-diffusion problem through control at the boundary and provide conditions on the data and the subdomain decomposition that guarantee the exact controllability. Several cost functionals and control functions are proposed. Uniqueness and existence results are proved for the coupled problem and the convergence of the iterative processes is analyzed.
