    Der Verfasser teilt ein vor Herrn Fredholm gefundenes Beispiel einer analytischen Function mit, welche eine natürliche Grenze besitzt und für die Punkte dieser Grenze nebst allen ihren Differentialquotienten stetig ist. Die Function steht in enger Beziehung zur \(\varTheta\)-Reihe und lautet, auf ihre einfachste Form gebracht: \[ f(x)=\sum_{\nu=0}^\infty a^\nu x^{\nu^2},\;|a|<1. \] Die natürliche Grenze wird durch den Kreis mit dem Mittelpunkt 0 und dem Radius 1 gebildet.
