    The authors study the Aristotelian square of opposition, its Medieval reception, and its transformation by Nicolai Alexandrovich Vasiliev (1880--1940), in a lecture delivered in 1910, in what amounts to a ``turning point in history'' into a ``triangle,'' the connection between Vasiliev's imaginary logic and paraconsistent logic as well as other 20th century departures from Aristotelian orthodoxy.
