For the one dimensional defocusing cubic nonlinear Schrödinger and for the \(n\)-dimensional Hartree equations (\(n\geq 2\)) with small initial data the authors prove global existence and provide long time asymptotics of the solution. One of the results is a comparison of the asymptotics of the solution with the solution of the linear Schrödinger equation, where a phase correction term is derived using a stationary phase argument. In particular the ease of the derivation of the phase correction term is a new contribution of the paper. The analysis is performed on an integral Duhamel's formulation of the problem in the Fourier variables. Global existence is proved using a local existence result and an a-priori estimate which ensures that small solutions remain small for all time.
