For each \(i=1,2,\dots,n\), let \(\Phi_i=\{\varphi_{i,k}\}_{k=-\infty}^\infty\) be a sequence of Blaschke products having a least common multiple \(\varphi_i\) (i.e., \(\varphi_{i,k}|\varphi_i\) for all \(k\) and, also, if \(\psi_i\) is a Blaschke product with the same property and \(\psi_i|\varphi_i\) then \(\psi_i\) is a constant multiple of \(\varphi_i\)). Rudin's quotient module (named after [\textit{W. Rudin}, Function theory in polydiscs. New York-Amsterdam: W. A. Benjamin, Inc. (1969; Zbl 0177.34101)]) corresponding to \(\Phi:=(\Phi_1,\dots,\Phi_n)\) is the quotient module \(\mathcal{Q}_\Phi\) of \(H^2(\mathbb{D}^n)\) defined by \(\mathcal{Q}_\Phi=\bigvee_{k=-\infty}^\infty\bigotimes_{i=1}^n\bigl(H^2(\mathbb{D})\ominus\varphi_{i,k}H^2(\mathbb{D})\bigr)\). It is the aim of the paper under review to study and compute the co-rank of \(\mathcal{Q}_\Phi\), which is defined as the infimum of the cardinal of \(\mathcal{S}\), when \(\mathcal{S}\) varies through the family of all \(M_z^*|_{\mathcal{Q}_\Phi}\)-generating subsets (\(M_z=(M_{z_1},\dots,M_{z_n})\) is the tuple of multiplication operators with the coordinate functions). Sections 3 and 4 study minimal representations of certain quotient modules of \(H^2(\mathbb{D}^n)\). Section 5 uses the results of the previous sections in order to formulate two theorems which compute the co-rank of \(\mathcal{Q}_\Phi\). One of them (Theorem 5.2) is a generalized version and a refinement of some results by \textit{K. J. Izuchi} et al. [J. Funct. Anal. 261, No. 6, 1457--1468 (2011; Zbl 1228.32006)]. The authors point out and correct an error appearing in the above mentioned paper. The concluding Section 6 contains an example which illustrates the main results, as well as a counterexample on the error indicated above.
