Secondary derived functors and the Adams spectral sequence (Q817495)

The aim of the paper is to introduce secondary derived functors generalizing the concept of classical derived functors \(\text{Ext}^n\). As an application the authors determine the \(E_3\)-term of the Adams spectral sequence. The techniques of the present paper can be used to give an algorithm for complete determination of the \(d_2\)-differential and hence the \(E_3\)-term of the Adams spectral sequence.
