A Banach space is said to satisfy property (P1) (respectively: ($\overline{\mathrm P1}$)) if every convex combination of slices \(C\) in its unit ball (respectively: and for every \(x\in C\)) is a relatively weakly open subset of its unit ball (respectively: there is \(W\), a relatively weakly open subset of the unit ball containing $x$, such that \(W\subset \overline{C}\)). Given a compact and Hausdorff topological space \(K\) and a compact \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\), the authors prove that the space \(C(K,A)\) of continuous functions from \(K\) into \(A\) satisfies property (P1) if and only if \(K\) is scattered and \(A\) is the \(c_0\)-sum of finite-dimensional \(C^*\)-algebras. Then the authors introduce the property (\(\overline{\mathrm P1}\)) to get that an \(L_1\)-predual Banach space \(X\) satisfies property (\(\overline{\mathrm P1}\)) if and only if \(X\) does not contain subspaces isomorphic to \(\ell_1\). This well written and interesting paper uses techniques from the geometry of Banach spaces (ideals) and \(C^*\)-algebras. Property P1 (with different names) and more general properties have been also considered in [\textit{T. A. Abrahamsen} et al., Stud. Math. 250, No.~3, 297--320 (2020; Zbl 1441.46005; \textit{R.
