The evolution of the density function of a bacteria in a higher dimensional phase space is governed by a transport equation. This equation is coupled with a system of partial differential equations for the extracellular signal vector. The goal of the paper is to prove global existence results for the whole coupled system. First, global existence of solutions is proved for the simplified model of signal transduction and for the system of parabolic equations for the extracellular signal. The second main result is the proof of global existence of solutions for the general model of signal transduction coupled with the system of elliptic equations for the extracellular signal.
