This paper is an interesting contribution to the study of equidistribution problems in a setting where Ratner's theorems cannot be applied. It is wellknown that for any irrational~\(\alpha\) the set \(\{\alpha,2\alpha,\dots,N\alpha\}\) is equidistributed modulo one in the limit as~\(N\to\infty\). A deeper but also well-known fact is that the closed horocycles of length~\(\ell\) are equidistributed in the unit tangent bundle of a hyperbolic surface of finite area as \(\ell\to\infty\). Here, these two results are placed in a single context: the main result says that for any~\(\nu>0\), a Kronecker sequence inside the unit tangent bundle along a closed horocycle of length~\(\ell\) is in the limit equidistributed for almost all rotation angles if \(\ell=N^{\nu}\to\infty\). For~\(\nu<1\) this holds under checkable Diophantine conditions on~\(\alpha\); for~\(\nu<2\) it holds under some additional conditions. For~\(\nu=2\), this result gives another approach to the result of \textit{Z. Rudnick} and \textit{P. Sarnak} [Commun. Math. Phys. 194, 61--70 (1998; Zbl 0919.11052)] on pair correlation density for \(n^2\alpha\) modulo one.
