The author gives an explicit proof of the local version of a result by \textit{R. L. Bryant} [Ann. Global Anal. Geom. 18, No. 3--4, 405--435 (2000; Zbl 0988.53016)] stating that any \(3\)-dimensional real-analytical Riemannian manifold can be isometrically embedded as a special Lagrangian submanifold in a Calabi-Yau manifold. He then refines the theorem proving that a certain class of real-analytical one-parameter families of metrics on a \(3\)-torus can be isometrically embedded in a Calabi-Yau manifold as a one-parameter family of special Lagrangian submanifolds. The author derives two applications of these results. As a first application he shows, that nearby elements of the local moduli space of a special Lagrangian \(3\)-torus can intersect themselves. As a second application he uses his examples of one-parameter families to show that in dimension three (and higher) the moduli space of special Lagrangian tori is not, in general, special Lagrangian in the sense of \textit{N. J. Hitchin} [Asian J. Math. 3, No. 1, 77--91 (1999; Zbl 0958.53057)]. The article starts with a beautifully written introduction into the subject, written in a way such that even non-experts can easily figure out, how the paper fits into the large project of understanding special Lagrangian submanifolds in Calabi-Yau-manifolds. This project is inspired by the SYZ-conjecture in Mirror-Symmetry [\textit{A. Strominger, S.-T. Yau, E. Zaslow}, Nucl. Phys., B 479, No. 1--2, 243--259 (1996; Zbl 0896.14024)]. Progress in this field is important for turning interesting ideas in theoretical physics into amazing mathematical relationships.
