Let \(\alpha\in {\mathbb R}\) be irrational, \(\beta>0\) and \(I(x)\) be the characteristic function of an interval of \({\mathbb S}^1\) of length \(\beta\). Given an odd integer \(k>1\), denote \(X={\mathbb S}^1\times \{0,1,\ldots, k-1\}\). For an integer-valued function \(f\) defined on \(X\), the following skew-product dynamical system \[ T_f(x,\ell,m)=\Big( (x+\alpha) \;\text{mod} \;1, (\ell +I(x)) \;\text{mod}\;k, m+f(x,\ell)\Big),\quad (x,\ell,m)\in X\times {\mathbb Z}, \] is studied. The main result is the following Theorem: Suppose that \(f(x,\ell)\) takes only odd integers values such that not every value of \(f(x,\ell)\) is a multiple of the same number. Then, for \((\alpha, \beta)\) in a set of full measure, \(T_f\) is ergodic.
