An affine algebraic variety \(X\) of dimension at least two is called flexible if the subgroup \(\mathrm{SAut}(X)\) of its automorphism group generated by all one-parameter unipotent subgroups acts infinitely transitively on the regular locus of \(X\). Non-degenerate affine toric varieties form an important class of flexible varieties [\textit{I. V. Arzhantsev} et al., Sb. Math. 203, No. 7, 923--949 (2012; Zbl 1311.14059); translation from Mat. Sb. 203, No. 7, 3--30 (2012)]. For a flexible variety, it is known that certain proper subgroup of \(\mathrm{SAut}(X)\) containing sufficiently large families of one-parameter unipotent subgroups also act transitively on the regular locus of \(X\), or at least on a dense open subset of it [\textit{I. Arzhantsev} et al., Duke Math. J. 162, No. 4, 767--823 (2013; Zbl 1295.14057)]. It is a natural question whether every (generically) flexible affine variety has the property to admit a subgroup of \(\mathrm{SAut}(X)\) generated by a finite collection of one-parameter unipotent subgroups which acts infinitely transitively on the open orbit of the action of \(\mathrm{SAut}(X)\) on \(X\). In the article under review, the authors give a positive answer to this question for non-degenerate affine toric varieties which are smooth in codimension 2. They establish more precisely the existence of a finite collection of one-parameter unipotent subgroups normalized by the torus acting on \(X\) which generate a subgroup of \(\mathrm{SAut}(X)\) that acts infinitely transitively on the regular locus of \(X\). In the case of the affine space \(\mathbb{A}^{n}\), the authors exhibit three explicit one-parameter unipotent subgroups of \(\mathrm{SAut}(\mathbb{A}^{n})\) which generate a subgroup acting infinitely transitively on \(\mathbb{A}^{n}\).
