    The authors consider a model of traffic flow described by a nonlocal conservation law \(\rho_t+(\rho v(\rho_\varepsilon))_x=0\), where \(\rho_\varepsilon\) is an averaged traffic density ahead of the current position (with the exponential weight kernel). Under some natural assumption on the velocity function \(v(\rho)\) the authors prove that the solution \(\rho_\varepsilon\) of the nonlocal problem converges as the averaged parameter \(\varepsilon\to 0\) to the entropy solution of the local conservation law \(\rho_t+(\rho v(\rho))_x=0\).
