From the text: Taking ``Ferma\textit{t} prime'' to mean ``prime of the form \(2^{n+1}\),'' there are six known Fermat primes, namely those for \(n = 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16\). We shall pronounce the last letter of Ferma\textit{t}'s name, as he did, when we include 2 among the Fermat primes, as he did.'' ... ``In this note we produce compelling evidence for our thesis: Thesis: The only Fermat primes are 2 (according to taste), 3, 5, 17, 257, and 65537.'' It's a pleasure to read this very interestingly written article.
