Let \(J^U\) be an ideal of the complex bordism ring \(\Omega^U\) generated by all differences \(\mathbb{P}(E)-\mathbb{P}(E^*)\) of projective bundles of complex vector bundles \(E\) over stably almost complex manifolds \(B\) and their duals \(E^*\). Then the main result of this paper states that \((\Omega^U_*/J^U)\otimes\mathbb{Z}[1/2]\) is isomorphic to a polynomial ring \(\mathbb{Z}[1/2][q_1, q_2, q_3, q_4]\) in four formal variables of degrees 2, 4, 6 and 8. This follows by considering an elliptic genus \(\psi : \Omega^U_*\otimes \mathbb{Q} \to \mathbb{Q}[q_1, q_2, q_3, q_4]\) defined via the logarithmic power series \[ g_\psi(y)=\int^y_0\frac{dt}{\sqrt{1+q_1t+q_2t^2+q_3t^3+q_4t^4}}, \] that is, via the equation \(g'_\psi(y)=\sum^\infty_{m=o}\psi(\mathbb{C}\mathbb P^m)y^m\) where \(\Omega^U_*\otimes\mathbb{Q}=\mathbb{Q}[\mathbb{CP}^1, \mathbb{CP}^2, \mathbb{CP}^3, \cdots ]\). In fact it is shown that the restriction of \(\psi\) to \(\Omega^U_*\otimes\mathbb{Z}[1/2]\) induces an isomorphism \[ (\Omega^U_*/J^U)\otimes\mathbb{Z}[1/2]\cong \mathbb{Z}[1/2][q_1, q_2, q_3, q_4]. \] Subsequently further features of the new genus above are discussed. It is observed therein that it is (1) universal, (2) multiplicative in projectivizations \(\mathbb{P}(E)\) over Calabi-Yau 3-folds and (3) genuinely different from Krichever-Höhn's elliptic genus. In addition, we have the facts that \(\Omega^U_*/\mathcal{M}^U\cong\mathbb{Z}[s_1, s_2]\) holds without tensoring with \(\mathbb{Q}\) and \(c_n, c_1c_{n-1}, c_1^2c_{n-2}\) and \(c_2c_{n-2}\) give examples of pure Chern numbers which are dualization invariant.
