A method of calculation for homology and cohomology groups with coefficients in the space of a representation of a Lie superalgebra is given, and carried out for the Lie superalgebra \({\mathfrak {sl}} (2, 1)\). First the simple highest weight modules \(V(\Lambda)\) of \(\mathfrak g= {\mathfrak {sl}} (2,1)\) are described in terms of a standard induced module \(\overline {V} (\Lambda)\). If \(\Lambda\) is typical, \(V(\Lambda)= \overline {V} (\Lambda)\), otherwise \(V(\Lambda)= \overline {V} (\Lambda)/ I(\lambda)\), with \(I(\Lambda)\) the nonzero maximal submodule. It is shown that the homology groups \(H_n (\mathfrak g, \overline {V} (\Lambda))\) vanish for any \(n\). Then the author describes the homology \(H_n (\mathfrak g, V(\Lambda))\) with \(\Lambda\) atypical. In this case, its dimension can be 0 or 1.
