An algorithm for computing upper and lower bounds for eigenvalues of a regular Sturm-Liouville problem on a finite interval is extended to problems with boundary conditions which depend linearly on the eigenvalue parameter. The algorithm involves partitioning the interval and replacing the coefficients of the differential equation by constants on each subinterval. The bounds converge to the true eigenvalues as the step size decreases, and the arithmetic mean of the upper and lower bounds converge even more rapidly.
