Let \(G\) be a finite Chevalley group. For a \(G\)-module \(V\), the fixed point sheaf \({\mathcal F}_ V\) is formed by attaching to each vertex of the Tits complex \(\Delta\) of \(G\) the subspace of \(V\) fixed pointwise by the unipotent radical of the parabolic subgroup \(P\) determining that vertex. The main result of this paper is the following theorem: Let \(\{\lambda_ 1,\dots,\lambda_ \ell\}\) be a set of fundamental weights for the Chevalley group \(A_ \ell(q)\), and let \(V\) be the irreducible module of highest weight \(\lambda_ i + \lambda_ j\) over the field \(F_ q\), where \(i \neq j\) and \(i + j \neq \ell\), \(\ell + 1\) or \(\ell + 2\); let \({\mathcal F}_ V\) be the corresponding irreducible presheaf. Then \(\dim(H_ 0({\mathcal F}_ V)) \leq \dim(V(\lambda_ i)) \cdot \dim(V(\lambda_ j))\).
