    The authors give existence conditions and a closed-form expression for solutions of coupled singular systems of higher-order difference equations of the form \(A_ p x(n+p)+A_{p-1}x(n+p-1)+\cdots+A_ 0 x(n)=0\), \(n\geq 0\), satisfying the following regularity condition: there exists a complex number \(\lambda_ 0\) such that the matrix \(\lambda_ 0^ pA_ p+\cdots+\lambda_ 0 A_ 1+A_ 0\) is invertible. Following [\textit{L. Jódar}, Int. J. Comput. Math. 33, 217-224 (1990; Zbl 0752.39001)] the concept of a co-solution to the algebraic matrix equation \(A_ pZ^ p+A_ 1Z+A_ 0=0\) is used.
