The author shows that the bi-hamiltonian structure of the averaged Gelfand-Dikij hierarchy is strongly involved in the Landau-Ginsburg topological models (\(A_ n\)-series) for an arbitrary genus \(g\). The Casimirs for the first Poisson brackets give the correct coupling parameters for the perturbed topological minimal model. The correspondence between the coupling parameters and the primary fields is determined by the second Poisson brackets. The genus \(g\) partition function is calculated via \(\tau\)-function of the corresponding Whitham- type hierarchy.
