A weaker concept than that of monotone semiflow and eventually strongly monotone semiflow is defined by the authors as pseudo-monotone and eventually pseudo-monotone semiflow. General convergence, oscillation and order stability theorems are proved for eventually strongly pseudo monotone semiflows for which each constant function is an equilibrium point. These results are applied to investigate the functional- differential equation of neutral type \({d\over dt}(x(t)-cx(t- r))=f(x(t),x(t-r))\) where \(c,r\in\mathbb{R}\), \(0\leq c<1\), \(r\geq 0\), \(f:\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) is continuous, locally Lipschitz in the first argument, increasing in the second argument and \(f(x,x)=0\forall x\in\mathbb{R}\), and the nonlinear parabolic partial differential equation with Neumann boundary condition \({\partial u\over\partial t}=Au+g(x,y,\nabla u)\), \(t>0\), \(x\in\overline\Omega\), \(u(x,0)=v(x)\), \(x\in\overline\Omega\); \({\partial u\over\partial t}(x,t)=0\), \(x\in\partial\Omega\), \(t\geq 0\), where \(A\) is a second order uniformly strongly elliptic differential operator and \(g:\overline\Omega\times\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}^ n\to\mathbb{R}\) is smooth and satisfies \(g(x,c,0)=0\) on \(\overline\Omega\) for any constant \(c\in\mathbb{R}\). Let's underline that an example is given of an eventually strongly pseudo monotone semiflow whose strong monotonicity cannot be guaranteed. --- Bibliography 27 titles.
