The author proposes an approach to study two-dimensional periodic travelling wave solutions in a capillary-gravity surface wave problem. This is done analysing the numerical simulations data by following two- parameter paths of singular points (i.e. limit and bifurcation points) which originate at the trivial solution at points of mode interaction. The two parameters used are the wave speed \(c\) which is considered as a bifurcation parameter, and the surface tension \(T\) which is considered as a control parameter. The bifurcation diagrams are sketched for various values of \(T\) using local information on the changes which occur at the higher-order singularities and the mode interaction. The discovery of more paths of turning points which do not connect to the trivial solution is reported. Cascades of period doubling bifurcations are also considered.
