Let \(D\) be the two-point discrete space. By results of \textit{V. Kuz'minov} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 125, 727-729 (1959; Zbl 0133.287)] every compact topological group \(G\) is dyadic, and \(G\) is homeomorphic to \(D^{w(G)}\) if \(G\) is zero-dimensional. The last result was independently obtained by \textit{L. N. Ivanovskij} [Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 123, 785-786 (1958; Zbl 0113.258)]. By results of \textit{A. Chigogidze} [Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 50, 156-180 (1986; Zbl 0603.54018)] every noncompact, locally compact, zero-dimensional, \(AE(0)\) topological group is homeomorphic to \(N \times D^{\alpha}\) for some \(\alpha \geq \omega\), where \(N\) is the space of natural numbers. In this interesting paper, the authors prove the following main result: Let \(G\) be a nonlocally compact, strongly zero-dimensional, \(AE(0)\) topological group. Then \(G\) is homeomorphic to \(N^{k(G)} \times D^{w(G)}\). (The cardinal invariant \(k(X)\) of a topological space \(X\) is defined in the following way: \(k(X)\) is the least infinite cardinal \(\alpha\) such that \(X\) contains a compact subspace whose pseudocharacter in \(X\) is \(\alpha\)).
