Let \(G\) be a nonidentity locally solvable periodic group of finitary transformations of a space \(V\) over a field of characteristic \(p\). The author proves that \(G\) possesses a nontrivial locally nilpotent radical. Also he shows that each maximal abelian normal subgroup \(A\) in \(G\) (\(O_ p(G) = 1\) for \(p > 0\)) satisfies the following conditions: 1) \(G\) acts faithfully on the subspace \(W = [V,A]\), 2) all \(A\)-homogeneous components of the space \(W\) have finite dimension and form a \(G\)-system of imprimitivity of \(W\); 3) \(G\) acts as a group of finitary permutations on the set of \(A\)-homogeneous components, the kernel of this representation is a subdirect product of abelian-by-finite groups of finite rank.
