Probabilistic multi-knowledge-base systems (Q1330415)

The paper proposes a new decision aid, Probabilistic Multi-Knowledge-Base System (PMKBS). Its main goal is to provide support to decision-makers faced with the derivation of a consensus-diagnosis. PMKBS was proposed based on experience with medical consultation scenarios. However, the authors claim that it will be applicable in every situation in which (1) all contributors operate in good faith and work towards the same goal, (2) possible hypotheses are mutually exclusive and exhaustive, (3) all contributors express their opinions as probability distributions. Results on development of the prototype system are provided as well as the discussion of performance analysis.
