A detailed analysis and some further results on the geometry of the solution sets of the Carathéodory extension problem and the truncated trigonometric moment problem are presented. In particular, it is shown that all the solution functions are located inside a Euclidean disc (the Weyl disc) and a hyperbolic disc (the Apollonian disc). The drift of the Weyl radius and Apollonian center in the plane under the deviation of a given trigonometric sequence is discussed. Two related engineering topics, spectrum estimation and inverse scattering, are considered.
