It is extended the duality theory presented in the author and \textit{R. Ober} [Int. J. Control 57, No. 3, 627-741 (1993; Zbl 0792.93020)]. The paper presents a unified approach to problems of Hankel norm approximation, model reduction and robust control of rational multivariable transfer functions. The unification is achieved by considering two classes of transfer functions and corresponding normalized coprime factorization. The paper contains a larger number of objects; there are several classes of transfer functions and related normalized coprime factorizations and doubly coprime factorizations of two different types; there are Hankel and Toeplitz operators, Youla-Kucera parametrizations of stabilizing controllers, spectral factorizations, etc. The paper is very useful for the interested and specialized readers.
