The approach of the hydrodynamical limit, introduced by Guo, Papanicolaou and Varadhan, uses large deviation techniques. The corresponding large deviation principle of the empirical measure from the hydrodynamical limit was proved by \textit{M. D. Donsker} and \textit{S. R. S. Varadhan} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 42, No. 3, 243-270 (1989; Zbl 0780.60027)] followed by several articles treating different models. All these models are systems in finite volume. In this paper an upper and lower bound of large deviations, which coincide for a dense subset of smooth profiles, are derived for infinite volume mean zero asymmetric zero range processes in equilibrium. In contrast to the finite volume case, there does not follow equality for all profiles for lack of convexity and lower semicontinuity of the rate functional. The method is based on a superexponential estimate.
