Let \(D(d, q)\) be a classical \((v, k, \lambda)\)-Singer difference set corresponding to the complement of the point-hyperplane design of \(\text{PG}(d, q)\). There exist \(A\) and \(B\) such that \(D= A\cup B\), \(A\cap B= \varnothing\), \((A- B)(A- B)^{(- 1)}= k\) iff \(d\) is even. Many very interesting motivations and framing remarks are given, also connecting several algebraic and geometric questions and theories.
