    Let \({\mathcal P}_n\) be the space of trigonometric polynomials of order \(\leq n\) with uniform norm (sup-norm) \(|\cdot |_C\) and \({\mathcal U} {\mathcal P}_n\) be this space but with the other norm \[ |f|_U =\sup_{0\leq m\leq n} \left|\sum^m_{k=-m} \alpha_k e^{ikx} \right|_C \] where \(f= \sum\alpha_k e^{ikx}\). Let \(d_n\) be the Banach-Mazur distance between \({\mathcal P}_n\) and \({\mathcal U} {\mathcal P}_n\). As a simple fact, \(d_n\leq K\) \(\ln (n+1)\) for some constant \(K>0\). In the reviewed paper the author proves that \(d_n\geq K_1\) \(\ln (n+1)\) for some constant \(K_1>0\). This result refines the result of [\textit{J. Bourgain}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 285, 133-139 (1984; Zbl 0574.46040)], which states the existence of some \(\alpha>0\) such that \(d_n\geq K_2\) \(\ln^\alpha (n+1)\) for some constant \(K_2>0\).
