The author investigates a quasistatic response of metal matrix laminated cylindrical panels subjected to a combination of uniform thermal loading and applied edge displacement. An approach based on a micro-to-macro analysis is proposed which enables one to account for the thermo-viscoplastic behavior of the metalic matrix and for its interaction with thermo-elastic fibers. Moreover, the approach provides the overall constitutive behavior of metal matrix composites. The author employs this method in a structural analysis to obtain the response of laminated simply supported panels. Finally, the method is extended to unidirectional anti-symmetric angle-ply SiC/Ti panels, both in geometrically perfect and imperfect case.
