Numerical experiments are performed by solving the steady nonlinear equations of motion for the rotating boundary layer flow over a concave surface with constant radius of curvature. The influence of rotation on the spatial development of the flow, and wavelength selection mechanism are investigated. It is shown how positive rotation enhances the development of the vortices while negative rotation retards their spatial development. The natural formation of steady Goertler vortices in a long box, subject to random inlet perturbation fields, is studied numerically. It is shown that different inflow random noise distributions yield different vortical structures downstream, but approximately the same average wavelengths.
