The author investigates critically the hypercomplex approach to `Dirac physics' (the equation and the matrices). The basis are: \(\{(e_\mu)\), \((ie_\mu)\), \(i(ie_\mu)\), \((f_\mu)\), \((if_\mu)\), \(i(f_\mu)\), \(i(if_\mu)\}\), where \((f_\mu)= \gamma_\mu\) and \(i(ie_0) =\gamma_5\). In terms of matrices these allow all \(16^2\) `matrix-pair' products. The multiplication rule is presented without using matrix forms. The conjugation property implies naturally to the transformations, in particular, to momentum, under a `covariance transformation'. This according to the author is totally abstract instead of any appeal to various moving or rotating frames. The author suggests an extension of the Dirac algebra (with 5-vectors) to a larger one with 6-vectors. This leads to proposing a wave equation with \(M\) (mass) having 5-parts. It is pointed out that the ``Dirac mass'' is only a special case. Finally, this extension leads to the extension of Dirac's Klein-Gordon factorization as well.
